Which membership is for me?

While the New Zealand Esport Federation is the recognised National Sporting Organisation by Sport NZ, we do not currently receive any funding from the NZ Government or Sport NZ. Our membership is a way you can help support us in our vision to unite New Zealanders with each other, and the world, through esports.

Even if you’re brand new to esports, our supporters all share one thing: they’re keen to be there while New Zealand esports goes to the next level. This free tier gives supporters information on upcoming tournaments, events and opportunities.

Not content with sitting on the sidelines? Becoming a member of the New Zealand Esports Federation shows that you believe in our mission and want to get stuck in shaping the future of esports in New Zealand.

This entry-level membership grants free access to both NZESF-run and NZESF-sanctioned events as well as exclusive discounts from PLAYTECH and other gaming retailers. Members will also gain full access to the NZESF resource library for in-depth guides on how to improve your game, start a team or develop an esport organisation.

So you’ve just started your own team or organisation? This tier is perfect for those dipping their toes into the organisational side of esports.

The tier offers access to a range of development resources, such as verified legal documents and player contracts — but also access to our grant funding screening application, and the ability to apply to have your services endorsed by the NZESF as a mark of trust.

If you’re a teacher or a group of schoolmates keen to get the school involved in your esports journey, a School membership is the way to go.

The membership is designed for academic institutes who wish to help reduce costs for students engaging in esports. Schools participating in the High School Esport League can pay a fixed annual membership fee and enter students into sanctioned NZESF events for free.

This level of membership also enables schools to gain a letter of support for regional trust funding to help provide accomodation, travel or uniform expenses for their players.

Professional organisations often have difficulty breaking into esports, but becoming an official Association of the New Zealand Esports Federation allows members to directly influence the evolution of esports in New Zealand.

This tier of membership includes all benefits described in the lower tiers, but most importantly it grants Associations voting rights as part of the New Zealand Esports Federation. This allows Associations the ability to get deeply involved with esports in New Zealand, and they will be invited annually to vote on various critical decisions such as sitting board members, strategic direction and specific initiatives.

Additionally, Association members are also first referred for upcoming opportunities in the esport space (e.g. funded events looking for delivery partners, or sponsors looking to engage with the community).

Lastly, Association members are added to our registration portal and receive a portion of all membership sign-up revenue that originates from your organisation to help fund your future esport events.

If you’re an organisation looking to reach the emerging esport audience, without being directly involved yourself, you might consider becoming a partner.

Partners of the New Zealand Esport Federation are organisations that either support our efforts financially or through value in kind and in return are at the forefront of everything we do. If you are interested in a potential partnership please reach out to us through our contact page.
